The Paramount Theatre is located in the heart of the city Austin, in the Congress Avenue, for about 100 years. Once, Sam Houston’s office, the War Department of the Republic of Texas and later the Avenue Hotel was functioning in the present site of the Paramount Theatre. The Paramount Theatre is the oldest and existing theatre of the Austin. It was built in the year 1915 and had entertained the audience for a long time.

At the beginning it brought a variety of shows and programs to the stage. Every year the Paramount Theatre presents drama, music, comedy, spoken word, films and children’s programs to almost 200,000 audiences of the Central Texans. Children are given fee concession or some time free entrance as the programs are organized to reach the youth. The Paramount takes place in the history as a City of Austin Landmark and State Landmark. It also holds place in the list of the National Register of Historic Places.
