Plant a wildflower garden, wildflower garden home

The center was established by Lady Bird Johnson in the year 1982 in a 178 acres of land with wild flowers for their laboratory use. The aim of the center is to study and preserve the plants. The interesting thing is the display garden with wild flowers which attract butterflies. Apart from the garden the visitor center with stone architecture and the observation tower are also attractive. Indoor display consists of Lady Bird’s gardening hats which are widely brimmed and the lawn mower talking in British accent. Special free lectures and guided walks are included on week ends and can be checked on the web. It has a huge library which has many books to study about plants. The gift shop has botanical related goods like plant books, and plants. It is situated at half hour drive from Central Austin and nice place to spend half a day with family.
